NousCap Fitting & Operating Instructions

Fitting Your NousCap

  • Remove NousCap from packaging.
  • Remove the existing fuel cap from your vehicle.
  • First check that you have purchased the correct NousCap in relation to the fuel used in your vehicle.
If your vehicle has a diesel engine the NousCap should be black and yellow in colour and have a “D” on the NousCap plug
If your vehicle has a petrol engine the NousCap should be green and yellow in colour and have a “P” on the NousCap plug.
  • Check that the NousCap has the same fitting arrangements as your existing fuel cap.
  • Fit NousCap into the fuel filler neck of your vehicle and tighten in a clockwise direction.
  • Once tight the NousCap should ‘click’ and then feel loose.
  • If you can turn the NousCap in either direction without it coming away from the vehicles filler neck then you have successfully and correctly fitted it.
  • If you have purchased a locking NousCap then you can now insert the key and lock it.
  • If you have been unsuccessful, then repeat the above steps.
If problem persists then contact the place from where the NousCap was supplied or purchased.

Using Your NousCap

  • If a locking NousCap is fitted then first un-lock NousCap using the key supplied and then remove key.
  • Rotate NousCap until the arrow on the top surface points upwards (i.e. “12 o’clock”).
  • Plastic gloves should now be worn (these will be located near to the fuel pump on station forecourt).
  • Remove fuel nozzle from fuel pump and locate firmly over NousCap plug.
    Note;
The plug is marked “D” for a diesel fuel nozzle and “P” for a petrol fuel nozzle.
If fuel nozzle does not fit over the NousCap plug, you have selected the wrong fuel nozzle or possibly the end of the fuel nozzle is damaged.
  • ! DO NOT FORCE NOZZLE ONTO THE NOUSCAP (this will damage the NousCap).
  • Once nozzle has located over NousCap plug, rotate nozzle slightly (i.e. between 5 and 10 degrees) in an anti-clockwise direction.
  • NousCap has now been loosened.
  • Remove fuel nozzle from NousCap plug, then with your other hand remove NousCap until clear of fuel filler on vehicle.
  • Insert fuel nozzle into vehicles fuel filler neck and replenish vehicle with the required amount of fuel.
  • Replace fuel nozzle into fuel pump.
  • Refit NousCap into fuel filler and tighten in a clockwise direction until you feel the NousCap ‘click’.
  • NousCap will now be easy to turn, but cannot be removed until the correct fuel nozzle is applied again.
  • Insert key and lock if you have a locking NousCap.
